Friday Free-for-All!

hello blogging world.....

I'm hooking up to my iPhone to get a connection to write a post this morning 😏 it's not much of a connection but it might get me through!

so here we go on a quick crash through the life of the Joneses 👉

currently....we are working through our exams and first set of progress reports. We are juuuust slightly behind where we should be but still in the running so I'll take it! (considering we moved AND took a flying leap trip to Florida!!!)

we were invited down south to sing 

and we spent a few quick moments playing on the beach before heading home!

Before we went to Florida, we enjoyed having a surprise birthday party for our pastor. There were wagon rides and little pony cart rides, volleyball and good food and fellowship!

Bug's wish list item #1 came true...she got to drive a pony and cart...she dreams of  working at the Blue Gate  driving tourists around in the horse and buggies...LOL

part of my farm dreams came true with this little guy..sooo cute! however I did not succeed in taking him home 😟😞 someday I will.......please Lord?🙏

 We celebrated a couple birthdays in October....Bug turned 10 and our oldest turned 18!

Margie spent her 18th birthday singing her heart out for the Lord in Florida! and we just got her celebrated yesterday 😱 I know...it's horrible but it has been one thing after another here besides the fact that she works pretty much everyday and gone for supper....how am I supposed to figure that one out?!! 😇 (that's what I'm going with here!) she requested meatloaf, mashed potatoes and corn and to make up for the lateness of the celebrations we got her a DQ birthday cake! 😋 (best mom award!) 😏

I can't believe she's 18, driving, working and graduating this year...with money to buy her own car burning in her account!

Friday Fashion!

yeah..it's Friday and I'm here with the fashion post I promised....gotta keep those promises!😉

I gonna be honest here...my husband bought me this dress last year for the military banquet and I wasn't able to go (cue the violins please!) so it has hung so sad and forlorn in my closet till this past weekend 👏

 I love love this dress and I highly recommend Dainty Jewels....the quality and fit are perfection!😘

 We had so much fun attending this event together....it's also GREAT having a good reason to wear fancy dresses! 

Sunday was another important day here at the Academy so I thought it would be great fun to wear this stripe dress with a military vibe (at least I thought so!😜)...it came from Mikarose several years ago so I am not sure if you could find it anywhere now. 😕

 We love to see our girls bringing glory to God in beautiful dresses! 

and that's another round of the fashion happening at my house!🙌🙌

What's Up Wednesday!

oh my! my life just seems to hop from one major thing to another...😮

I have been MIA lately because we......wait for it......

MOVED!!!!!!!  again!

across the street. LOL

 This dear child of mine has struggled and fought with asthma for the last year...she has been so sick and pretty much in a constant state of attack. We have tried so many different things till we had exhausted all resources and more...we knew that the house was her problem. We were offered the house across the street (and for those of you wondering housing is part of my husband's job here) and so our olders camped out to test run it (ain't anybody got time to move for nothing! ;)

The verdict came back in all clear...so without wasting anymore time..we moved! We are still in the process and our place is topsy turvy but we are here...she is breathing...and all is well in God's world!

 These lovely ladies all need glasses....two of them had glasses before and we were mending and repairing them for the last year and a half 😏😏 the other we knew needed glasses eventually so here we go! 3 with and 3 without! 😍 they are so cute!

I wanted to check out the Fall Crafter's Fair in Shipshe this last week...we found some very cute but a little smelly friends there! how cute! (I want one!!!)

 We have gotten some rainy days here and with the move we have lost track of a few essential items like jackets or sweaters or boots or shoes for that matter, apparently! 😏💦💦 never fear!!! garbage bags are the latest in rain fashion!!

Friday....WHAAAATTT?

I'm hopping on here "real quick" to share a few things about our week!

(confession: I actually had this post almost written and a quick tap of the wrong finger copied and deleted the whole thing!!!...I mean how does that happen? copied....then deleted...as I was typing??!!! if I had wanted to do that....ya, you know where I'm going! ;)

It was a good week...a good week for a stay-at-home-homeschooling-momma is indeed a good week! 😏 I got caught up in my correcting (amazeballs!!!) that apparently is not a word and my computer is flipping out! 😏

For a week that started with a dozen hornets flying around our heads in the schoolroom and me demanding my rights that no salamanders deserved a home in MY home....I mean that all happened in less than five minutes on a Monday morning....y'all making me go crazy up in here! ya know what I'm saying! 😉 here we are at Friday and I'm calling it a good week 😏 (this smirking face has really got me today!)

We picked up some apples and helped with apple sauce for a bit to help a friend, gathered some walnuts for the littles to sell...the Lord wowed and overwhelmed us with a new-to-us fridge which we needed...well needed? I'm not sure...need like some need healing and comfort? or need it like some need love and home and family? no....let's say that we had a fridge here in the house and it works and it is fine but it leaked all over the floor and  the shelves inside are all broken so everything falls to the middle and it is too small for our family's food supply! so did we "need" this? maybe not....but the Lord blessed us and I am so thankful for it and how the Lord cares for me though I am so underserving! 😧

I went soul-winning with my beloved pastor's wife....now a introverted hermit's worst nightmare is being taken to walk up to complete strangers and talk  AHHHHHHH!!! 😱😱😱 I can't even remember MY name let alone their's or anything about what I am supposed to be sharing...bahahah but thankfully my beloved pastor's wife is kind and loving and understanding and patient 😇 2 souls were saved and several invited out to church and to our upcoming revival meetings..I am praying that we will meet them at church soon!!!

It may be fall...but the weather is hot enough to melt me....that's hot y'all! I believe it is suppose to be a feels like 101* today....happy first day of fall!!!!😆

Struggles of One Momma of Six

This year has been a stretch y'all...in many ways.

Our oldest girls are driving....and now they are working part-time or what feels like full-time to me (one of them is actually working 40 hours this week). This is a stretch for me...stretching my heart to let these ones go...go driving....go working...this momma is not used to girls being gone all day...wow! it really leaves a hole in the family and I am reworking the schedule and duties at home big-time!

There's been much stretching in trusting God this year...trusting God while watching your child struggle to breathe every minute...trusting God to pay the medical bills and trusting God for answers you just can't find anywhere else.

Trusting God...that's a big stretch when the rubber meets the road...it's not so bad trusting God when life is going good and you can "see"....but then that's not really trusting God is it?

But more and more I see that life is good...God is good...and there is nothing like serving Him. The more struggles we have....the easier it is to chuckle at seeming "hardships"....like a hornets' nest in the wall of your bedroom and angry stinging creatures none to pleased to take a wrong turn and find themselves in your room and not theirs! ;)

The stories of this last year could fill a book easy....and I don't ever want to forget even the tiniest detail...sewer backups, toilets plugged, window panes shattered, kitchen flooded...and life happens...and God is good!

So if God is stretching you? let Him...trust Him....it's good!

Fabulous Friday

YEAH it's Friday!!

This week has flown by! we got our carpets and ducts all cleaned out on Tuesday....this was our first full week of school although we had to take Tuesday off while our carpets were done :) We have not yet got everything fit into our schedule as we are juggling quite a bit this year but we are working on it!

Fall is definitely in the air right now....mornings are crisp and I see leaves started to change :(( I love summer!!! I do like fall but I am not a fan of cold! ;)

I am a fan of long sleeves and this shirt is super cute to help transition into that cooler weather!

I love the colours in this outfit and of course jean jackets...another great way to move into fall!

This outfit looks like a comfy, cozy great way to keep off the chill and still look pretty cute! 

I also figured out a way to use my Pinterest again! :) which is where these super cute pics came from...all credit goes to them!

What's Up Wednesday!

I just wanted to pop on and share a little about our homeschool schedule and how it works for us!

First of all...we do Abeka. Currently we are enjoying the DVD program and we do independent parent led until Grade 9 at which point we switch to accredited. This gives our graduates a recognized diploma and transcripts for whatever their future holds! :)

Our kiddos rise early...I say early because anything before 8 at least is too early for me! ha! our olders generally are up and going by 7 and the youngers do very well at getting around also. The only rule I have right now is that they have to be doing school by 8....this gets them done usually around noon with maybe one more class to finish after lunch...depends upon the child and what time they started.

After Bible class, we do a quick basic 20-30 minutes of cleaning. The girls each have an area that they are responsible for and by working together we can keep up on the mess that quickly accumulates during the day.

We take a 20 minute recess break at 10:20...and an hour for lunch.

We like to do a Bible study of some sort together so we stop around 10 for that. After lunch break we enjoy story time together...we have laughed and loved our way through so many books together!

This year we are doing music theory and French as extras...these are not done every day and if we can't fit it in every week we do not stress about it...but we do our best!

I also teach them piano and oversee violin and flute lessons. We pick the best day to work these in and do our best to stay faithful but again don't stress if life happens somedays and we can't get in all in.

The general aim is for all school to be done by 2 and most days they are done by dinner....they get free time till 4 which is "homework" time....we don't usually have much for homework but we stress preparation for the next day and making sure we have what we need to be prepared!

We all work together to help each other out whether it is asking Spelling words, doing appendix quizzes or correcting. The older girls pitch in to tutor the younger ones.

This year our 2 seniors are working their first real job and doing school...so we have a work schedule to "work" around for them....we are excited to watch them take this big step and learn how to manage a job and school at the same time. That is life....and that is what we train them for!

I am really looking forward to this year of school...we are on Day 3...we got a good early start...it almost seemed too easy this year! With homeschool there are many ups and downs during the course of the year...I am thankful that the Lord has blessed us with a good start!
