My New Year Post

Not everybody is a resolution type person....I know my husband is not :) but I am.

I just love a new year....new beginnings, fresh pages, new opportunities, etc. For me the new year also brings with it a new life year as my birthday falls in December so it makes me ponder maybe doubly so as I contemplate a new year of life AND a new year on my calendar ;)

I think my verse for the new year is 1 Peter 3:4 ~ "But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price."

I don't know about you but I often get sidetracked desiring opportunities and goals that although not a bad thing in and of themselves only serve to take my mind and hands away from that which is most important...serving God!

I have only a few short years left with some of my girls and I have wasted so much time!!! Couple that with my constant failures and oh my! how I need the grace of God! Discipleship has been pressing heavily on my mind these days and how I must give the girls all the right tools they are going to need to navigate through life on their own....THAT IS MY RESPONSIBILITY! THAT is my current most important area of service....above personal desires, business, or anything else.

I am an avid reader....I love words! but of all the books that are helpful and full of so much wisdom and helpful tips NOTHING beats the wisdom found in God's word. One book contains everything we will ever need to know whether it has to do with business and work, marriage or  family....so that's the book that I need to be reading and listening too the most.

So to sum up these random thoughts here are my new year desires: growing my hidden man of the heart and developing that beautiful meek and quiet spirit, getting my priorities straight and focusing on  the girls and their spiritual training, tapping into my superpower called prayer ;) and exercise!

I believe that everything else will fall into place if your relationship with God has the proper place...first in my life!

I am absolutely falling in love with dresses, leos and tall boots!! My new favourite comfortable winter outfits!

Walmart has some cute dresses in that I would like to try.... :)))

I have found it hard to leave vacation mode ;) but will try to return to regular programming!

Happy New Year!

  1. Heidi, good to read you wise words. Yes the years will pass quickly and your goal of spending quality time with your children will be reward by the Lord and through those children. We wives and mothers set the tone of the home and our children. Encouraging post.
