Fashion Friday!

hey everybody! another week has flown by....we had our first home school visit yesterday morning and got all that nasty paperwork all done for another year. For some reason I always forget about her visit until she arrives in my driveway ;) even though we have emailed several days before and made the appointment....maybe  I'm supposed to be getting dressed earlier hahah!

Time for another fashion post but before I do I just wanna say one thing. I dress this way because I want to...not because I have to or because I am brainwashed or under some body's thumb. I read soo many comments from people who only see what we "can't" do and then comments like "oh yeah, jeans!!! it's so nice to see her be able to wear jeans" if somebody has changed her standards and now dresses like the rest of the world. Again just let me be clear....I don't want to dress like the world not because I'm judging anybody but because I believe the Lord has led me to "be not conformed to the world" and to be set apart from the world.

I believe a holy conversation pleases the Lord...just as when my children obey me and then go the extra mile really pleases me. Who wouldn't want to please the Lord more and more everyday?? I don't want to have a lifestyle that is as close to the worlds as I can get without quite getting totally there when Scripture clearly teaches "come out from among them and be ye separate."

I also realize that not everybody will have or is going to have the same set of standards. PLEASE know that these are my own reasons and I am not judging you if you have a different set of standards. We all must follow the Lord's leading in our own lives....just make sure that you are!!! It's soo important and the rewards are out of this world!!! ;)

These are my culottes....i think culottes get a bad rap today and I just wanted to show how cute they can be if made properly :) These are my dressy pair made with a skirt flap across the front!

I get most of my inspiration from Pinterest...so these pictures show my pin and then my outfit! There are soo many ideas and things I would have never tried...you can't go wrong with Pinterest :)

  3. Well put, Heidi. I agree that we don't dress the way we do because we have to but only to please the Lord and follow how He leads us. God bless

  7. I think it's nice to wear skirts & dresses...it adds great variety to a women's look and why is it bad to look feminine? I wear jeans, but overall, I think society has gotten too casual! Good for you for wearing nice clothes!! jodie

  8. I love your cullottes!! I've been trying to find a nice pattern to make myself some new ones. Do you have the name of the pattern? The one's I wore during my horseback riding days have gotten rather shabby. Having two "littles" keeps me out of the saddle these days, but I still would like a pair for housework, playing outside and so many more things.
