A Day in the lIfe of.......

A man came home from work and found his three children outside, still in their pajamas, playing in the mud, with empty food boxes and wrappers strewn all around the front yard. The door of his wife's car was open, as was the front door to the house and there was no sign of the dog. Proceeding into the entry, he found an even bigger mess. A lamp had been knocked over, and the throw rug was wadded against one wall. In the front room the TV was loudly blaring a Cartoon channel, and the family room was strewn with toys and various items of clothing. In the kitchen, dishes filled the sink, breakfast food was spilled on the counter, the fridge door was open wide, dog food was spilled on the floor, a broken glass lay under the table, and a small pile of sand was spread by the back door. He quickly headed up the stairs, stepping over toys and more piles of clothes, looking for his wife. He was worried she might be ill, or that something serious had happened. He was met with a small trickle of water as it made its way out the bathroom door. As he peered inside he found wet towels, scummy soap and more toys strewn over the floor. Miles of toilet paper lay in a heap and toothpaste had been smeared over the mirror and walls. As he rushed to the bedroom, he found his wife still curled up in the bed in her pajamas, reading a novel. She looked up at him, smiled, and asked how his day went. He looked at her bewildered and asked, 'What happened here today?' She again smiled and answered, 'You know every day when you come home from work and you ask me what in the world do I do all day?' 'Yes,' was his incredulous reply. She answered, 'Well, today I didn't do it.

I stole this from someone but it was sooo me and my everyday life I had to.....not much of an excuse for stealing but hey! what can I say?! As I look around me,chaos abounds. Makes me wonder how in the world people believe the order in our present world came from chaos!!!???? Maybe if I just sit here long enough......hahahahha...wishful thinking! I took yesterday off to cut hair..and yes 6 girls took all afternoon to do! and you certainly can tell today! The sad thing is I want to go outside and enjoy the warm sunny day but I should be cleaning scrubbing and sweeping!! Reminds me of that poem we learned as children..

I meant to do my work today,
But a brown bird sang in the apple tree,
And a butterfly flitted across the field,
And all the leaves were calling me.

And the wind went sighing over the land,
Tossing the grasses to and fro,
And a rainbow held out its shining hand--
So what could I do but laugh and go?

Yes I have toothpaste squeezed all over the mirror and counter..and that's just one bathroom. At this moment from my viewpoint I see pillows, blankets and teddy bears, science books, papers, pens ,Bibles, hairbrushes,Windex, some various toys all over the place...all this in just one room!!! and I know without even going to look that most rooms in this place are in the same state of disarray! :/ The kitchen floor is sticky with iced tea, scattered school books...okokokok just go back reread the portion I stole and multiply it by six or maybe eight....get the picture?!!! :D

Anyway......I must stop procrastinating! I'm thinking I'll do a quick cleanup..I may even set a timer for each room and then off I'll go and take my girls for a walk, come back and enjoy a nice cold chocolate fudgiscle (my fav) and possibly work in the backyard for a bit! How's that for compromise?? Physically that's what Ima going to do...MENTALLY however I think I'll be off to tour some castles in Europe, visit Paris and then hop over to South America on a missions trip to Honduras! Tata!
