When God Is Silent

When God is silent and we don't know
The way before us that we ought to go;
When we've attempted to do His will,
And yet His silence continues still.

Then it's time to trust!
Yes, it's time to remember that the Lord is faithful to His own.
If we hope, we shall yet be praising once again,
For His silence never means that we're alone.

When God is silent and all seems lost,
As o'er the waves our boat is tempest-tossed;
When answers fail us and doubts arise,
But God seems distant, hid from our eyes!

Then it's time to trust!
Yes, it's time to remember that the Lord is faithful to His own.

I have had these times before........but none have seemed so low as this. I know God is there..somewhere...

I have never felt so happy and blessed as I do now in the church we are attending and yet our circumstances have never felt soo low before....and so my quest begins. A search to find God...a search to know God..and ultimately to have close fellowship with Him. Obviously something, somewhere has gone amuck..and with God being who He is, I am forced to look within myself and admit my shortcomings and failures.

I must be thankful for the things we have.......even stone soup :) and stop fretting. God must have a plan...He must have a reason for all this....and if I can remain faithful and ever praising I will see.

He is there, quietly working....as my oldest said to me this morning, "maybe God is just testing us"..............out of the mouth of babes!

"God wants to hear you sing
When the waves are crashing ’round you
When the fiery darts surround you
When despair is all you see.."
